Artist: Stuart Herod
Title: Wren on Branch
Medium: Oil On Panel Image Size: 6" x 6"
Price Code: £550
Stuart Herod
Born 1961 in Malta, Stuart Herod moved to Yorkshire aged 2 and has resided there ever since. Stuart’s passion for art developed as a child as did his interest in horseracing.
A self- taught artist, Stuart studied the painting techniques of the old masters. Using many thin layers of paint and transparent glazes he is able to build muscle definition and depth on the canvas to an incredibly accurate ‘photo-real’ standard. This meticulous technique means some paintings can take weeks and in some cases months to finish.
In recent times Stuart has drawn inspiration from contemporary equestrian artists such as Susan Crawford, Peter Curling and Richard Stone Reeves.
