Artist Biography: Carl Whitfield
Born in Yorkshire in 1958, Carl left school to pursue a career in commercial management but after some several years he returned to his first love, painting, and decided to make it his life’s work. Having undertaken no formal training, he closely studied wildlife and farm animals, spending the next few years practising and perfecting his technique. His main influences are the eminent English artists Grimshaw, Hunt and Herring.
Carl Whitfield’s very first painting was showcased in this gallery over 25 years ago, and he has remained a best-selling and constant exhibitor ever since that day.
The hallmark of Carl’s work is the particularly fine detail and intense rich colours, resulting in a painting of rare quality, depth and great charm. He has an amazing repertoire of indigenous wildlife subjects and he also paints still life of a stunning three-dimensional quality.
As a result, Carl’s paintings now have a huge following and he is now widely collected in the UK and throughout the world.

Biography: David Christopher Atack
Born in Knottingley, Yorkshire, David’s interest in art was apparent at an early age and developed into an abiding obsession.

His holidays in France particularly Brittany fired David’s imagination, but his love for
English countryside, whether it be the flat and gracious wildlife of Norfolk or the warmth
