Biography: Lyndsey Shelley
A professional self taught artist for over 25 years specializing in wildlife. Lyndsey works from her own photos taken on safari in Africa.
Her originals and prints have been sold across the UK at art shows and galleries and the David Shepherd Foundation, Christies Auctioneers London, New York.
Lyndsey was born in Derby, where leaving school at 16 she worked as a figurative painter at Royal Crown Derby traveling to Canada as an Ambassador for the company to demonstrate the skill of painting onto bone china.
Lynsey has illustrated books for international clients, greetings cards and undertaken commissions to illustrate children’s wildlife books.
She worked for 4 years for Denby Pottery.
Lyndsey decided to focus full time on wildlife art. Commissions and awards followed.
Lyndsey works in oils using a brighter palette and looser techniques to create more of an atmosphere.
