Born 1983 in Domboshava; South Africa.
Born and raised into a family of woodcarvers, including his grandfather and 6 uncles, Deswage has spent his whole working life handling many varieties of wood and creating unique sculptures with his very own handmade tools.From the age of 13 years he has single-mindedly concentrated on developing his own style resulting in sculptures which have metamorphosed into almost abstract forms.
With his love of wildlife and nature, Deswage reveals the hidden beauty of the birds and animals in each finished piece.His figurative work and functional bowls, benches and tables are also beautifully crafted as he always turns finished piece to his artistic advantage making a memorable collectors piece.
